Ricoh Family Group Dealers Report Early Success in Selling Services Through Champs Program

West Caldwell, NJ, July 2, 2012 – Ricoh Americas Corporation dealer partners across the country are reporting that they are successfully expanding their businesses by reselling Ricoh business information services.

The Ricoh ChaMPS program has given Ricoh, Savin and Lanier dealers a powerful menu of IT and professional services to offer to new and existing customers. With ChaMPS, the dealers have added more capabilities to their portfolio of offerings without the infrastructure startup costs required to create services from scratch.

“We use Ricoh to support and augment the solutions we market directly to our clients,” said Dexter Loeble, Senior Marketing Director, Edwards Business Systems, in Scranton, Pa. “We are able to offer extended services and have confidence in their ability to scale as demand grows. We have learned over the years that Ricoh is a great partner and are very comfortable working together on client engagements.”

Loeble and other dealers participated in a panel discussion at the Ricoh Convergence 2012 dealer event last month in Las Vegas, a year after Ricoh launched ChaMPS in Orlando. The program equips dealers to outsource Ricoh services such as:

  • On-site professional services, including information capture, workflow, distribution
  • Project management services
  • Commercial imaging services, and
  • IT services for proactive network monitoring and management

“These Ricoh managed services enable our dealers to expand their product offerings without startup and acquisition costs,” said Jim Coriddi, Vice President, Dealer Division, Ricoh Americas Corp. “The services also differentiate our dealers from their traditional copier/printer-only competitors. Customers benefit from the tighter relationship with the dealership, no longer needing multiple vendors to meet their business information services requirements.”

All in the Ricoh family
Unlike organizations that provide ad hoc solutions to dealer channels through acquisition, Ricoh has built and delivered its services portfolio from within. Ricoh’s services professionals are already a part of the company; understand the strategy, culture and business needs […]

What is Print Tracker™?

Print Tracker™ is a non-invasive software solution for gathering meter reads from copiers and printers. In general, the installation requires little or no involvement from your onsite IT department. Meter data is passed securely through firewalls using the HTTPS protocol, similar to how a web browser communicates with a banking website. Print Tracker™ is proxy-compatible and does not create security vulnerabilities. It is used in banks, hospitals, schools- any place with high security needs.

Print  Tracker™  has a very small impact on network performance. It runs as a service that is usually asleep, and wakes up a few times during the day to perform required tasks.

Print  Tracker™  pulls the device description, IP address, serial number, location, page counts, and toner levels.  It can be setup to send toner and service alerts as well.  Printing devices that are compliant with the standard Printer MIB are supported, including Canon, HP, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Lanier, Lexmark, Ricoh, Sharp, Panasonic, and Xerox. Please contact us for a full list of devices and models.

Why use Print Tracker™?

• Print Tracker™ automatically gathers the meters and emails them as an Excel spreadsheet attachment when scheduled.

• Print Tracker™ ‘s installation program is under 4 MB in size, and it can be run from a USB drive, rather than installing it, if desired.

New Ricoh printhead helps partner build platform for fine detailed visual graphics

Ricoh Europe, London, 03 November 2016 – Ricoh is collaborating with Switzerland-based Signracer Gmbh with its latest industrial inkjet printhead to enable the creation of an entirely new flexible production platform.

Signracer Gmbh chose the RICOH MH5220 as an extension to its existing agreement with Ricoh. The collaboration reflects broader industry demand for advanced high-resolution printing with excellent close-up detail. The smaller 2.5pl native drop size of the print head allows Signracer to offer its customers even finer visual graphics, improved flesh tones and subtle pastel shades.

The print head has a built in heating element that facilitates the jetting of high viscosity ink as well as providing great fluid stability. This provides Ricoh customers with a broad range of potential application, going from labels and packaging to wide format graphics where already new platforms are being developed.

Ricoh introduced the print head at drupa in June 2016 to provide support for industrial partners in meeting market demands. The innovation builds on 30 years of Ricoh printhead manufacturing expertise and an extensive patent portfolio.

Graham Kennedy, Head of Commercial Ink Jet Business, Ricoh Europe, said: “Inkjet innovators need to be supported with the most advanced and robust technology to grow their businesses. They also need to offer their customers increased flexibility with drop sizes, shorter delivery times and finer image quality. The RICOH MH5220 delivers all of this. With a stainless steel construction and anti-corrosion properties for multiple inks, it offers excellent durability and diverse application potential. This is all part of the rapid digitisation of industrial printing to deliver greater flexibility and productivity.”

Ricoh at Inprint 2016
Ricoh will showcase its latest inkjet technology innovations at the industrial print show, Inprint, which takes place at MiCo – Milano Congressi from 15-17 November. At stand E50 inkjet experts will demonstrate the company’s existing inkjet products and new technology. They will also discuss […]

ORLANDO (GRAPH EXPO 16, Booth #2035), September 26, 2016 – Ricoh USA, Inc. today unveiled the RICOH Pro 8220s series, its latest high-speed black and white digital print platform series. Today’s production print environments, especially those focused on book printing, benefit from and often require flexibility. The need to meet fast turn times and shifting deadlines, and have the ability to print on thick and coated media for attractive color inserts to illustrate key points, can help printers find the capacity to take on new jobs quickly and efficiently.

The RICOH Pro 8220s series addresses these needs by offering tight registration and a new High Capacity Interposer (HCI). The HCI is a two-tray system with 1,750-sheet-per-tray capacity for post-fusing insertion of front and back covers or color inserts, printed on offset or digital printers, into books and manuals. The RICOH Pro 8220s series also offers users tight registration to help ensure more precise, clean output and delivers the ability to print on a wide variety of substrates without sacrificing speed or quality.

“Production print operations are defined by what they produce, their ability to meet deadlines and fulfill job requirements,” said John Fulena, Vice President, Production Printing Business Group, Ricoh USA, Inc. “The RICOH Pro 8220s series empowers printers to produce a wide variety of applications very quickly and efficiently by eliminating manual steps, making scanning quick and simple and making adding covers and inserts swift and hands-off. This is a device for the future of high-speed production.”

Aside from high print (96 to 136 ppm) and scan speeds on 8.27 x 11.69 inches (120 ipm simplex, 220 ipm duplex), the HCI automatically adds covers and inserts within jobs, saving significant time and labor investments. Meanwhile, the RICOH Pro 8220s series maintains its outstanding 1,200 x 4,800 dpi VCSEL quality on a wide variety of media, including coated media, […]
